Creativity is Key

2020: A Creative Decade

        Creativity is here, and needed more than ever. With the rise of Social Media, and Brand Culture, creative thinking is an asset. This is the future of this new decade. It’s refreshing to see the need for this, but unfortunate to know that the Art Curriculum is not supported for the children of this decade. I’m dedicating my energy and thought to Art Education, as I believe Art will greatly help children exercise their mind through expressive hands on work. It will open their mind to developing their sense of self, and their future passions. Is there an industry where creative thinking and output is not needed?

Career as an Art Educator

         I started painting at the age of 5. I remember walking through a small lamp store, and attending my class at the back of it. It was a small art class with a long communal table taking up the whole space. It was a small but busy class. My first distinct piece was an oil painting of an empty wine bottle with various fruits around it. Seeing it as a grown person, I don't believe I did that when I was that age. Since that small art class, I always felt comfortable with brushes and paints.

         With the rise of Art as a career in Manila, I see the need for that small workshop to come back. A place where children can have a safe place to create, express themselves, and hone their passion.
